Fieldworks Performance Group was founded in Perth in 1988 under the direction of Jim Hughes. The group aimed to ?investigate areas of new dance, performance, theatre and new media?. Founding dancers were Bill Handley, Lynne Williams, Janine Burchett and Michael Johnson and Hughes, who was also the company's main choreographer.

The repertoire of Fieldworks Performance Group included Reflections (1990), Poets, Lunatics and Dreamers, Crossings (1991), Traces (1993), Scenes in a Prison (1993), Solos (1994), Why Can?t Emus Fly (1994), The Lost Ones (1994), Odd Couple (1994), Rites of Passage (1996), and Time Out (1996).

Papers of Cheryl Stock, 1973-2000 (Manuscript)

This collection comprises papers and other material relating to Cheryl Stock's career as a dancer, teacher and choreographer. There are two components to the collection. One comprises papers relating to Stock's career in general, the other to her work as founding artistic director of Dance North.

The collection includes working notes, research notes, programs, scripts, publicity material, press cuttings and photographs relating to various productions with which Stock has been involved. Those productions include works for Australian Dance Theatre, New Moon Theatre Company, Human Veins Dance Theatre, One Extra Company, Kinetikos Dance, North Queensland Ballet Company, Queensland Theatre Company, and Fieldworks Performance Group as well as Dance North. The photographic component consists of images of works made for Dance North by Stock and other choreographers including Nanette Hassall and Graeme Watson. They include Playground, Mangoes, Reconnect and talk to me, Heatwave, Neurotica suburbia, Sun, sea and sandwiches, Signs of the times, Ochre Dusk, Passenger, Sun-hunters, Desert magic, Windprints, A moon of our own, Women's war too, If war were a dance, World cafe, Taking Flight, Broken Places, and Please no more palms. There is also a small amount of correspondence relating to specific productions and copies of journal articles, keynote addresses and seminar papers by Stock.
