Paige Gordon & Performance Group, also known as PG & PG, was established in Canberra in 1993. Based at the Gorman House Arts Centre, the company presented contemporary dance works which were 'not just about new movement and innovative presentation, but also about a camaraderie amongst colleagues, a standard or professionalism and above all an interest in making dance accessible by making it entertaining'. Paige Gordon & Performance Group was awarded Canberra Critics' Circle awards in 1993 and 1994.
Paige Gordon & Performance Group, which was directed by Paige Gordon, presented works created by Gordon in a variety of traditional and non-traditional dance spaces. Works choreographed by Gordon for the company included Still Dancing (1993), which toured to the Artrage Festival, Perth, in 1993; Shed – A Place Where Men can Dance (1994), which looked at 'the validity of male space in Australian society' and which was performed by an all male cast; The Coast (1995), which explored the 'mythology of the coast'; Three Trees (1994), presented at Autumnfest; Paper City (1996) a collaboration with Halex Vargas Dance Theatre; Party! Party! Party! (1996); Aves (1997), which was performed in Canberra's Botanic Gardens; and Raising the Standard (1998).
Dancers who performed with the company include Sarah Chifley, Fiona Eakin, Cadi McCarthy, James Berlyn, Janet Charlton, Simon Clarke, Lisa Ffrench, Barbara Mullin, Vivienne Rogis, Fiona Watson, Aida Amirkhanian, John Hunt, Benedict Leslie, Joseph Trefeli, Chris Trenton, Jonathan Rees Osborne, Paul Cordeiro, and Bruce Edwards. The group wound up in 1998 when Gordon was appointed director of Buzz Dance Theatre.
