Lynne Golding was trained in Sydney with Raisse Kouznetsova and Leon Kellaway. She joined Joyce Graeme's National Theatre Ballet in 1951 and in the same year was promoted to ballerina. For the National Theatre Ballet she danced the role of Odette/Odile, partnered by Henry Danton, in the first full length production of Swan Lake in Australia. Other roles for which she was well known during her years with the National Theatre Ballet included that of Taglioni in the Anton Dolin production of Pas de quatre, which was restaged for the company by Henry Danton.
In 1952 Golding left for Europe where she studied with Olga Preobrajenska in Paris. She went on to perform in North and South America and on her return to Australia appeared in a number of Tivoli shows. In 1974 she was guest producer for Perth City Ballet and created three original works for that company.
Golding died in Melbourne on March 21, 2008.
