The Sydney based company Legs on the Wall has been instrumental to the Australian development of the physical theatre genre, a relatively new artform that draws on circus, acrobatics and dance for its skill base. Legs on the Wall was founded in 1984 by a collection of artists working in the new forms of contemporary circus. It is recognised for its large scale outdoor works that involve spectacular acrobatic feats and arresting imagery in urban landscape settings. These works are particularly suited to festival environments, and the company has presented works at international festivals such as the Edinburgh Festival. In-theatre productions are an additional arm of the company repertoire, again using physical theatre skills but on a more intimate level.

Legs on the Wall has toured both within Australia and internationally with seasons in Europe, Asia, North and South America. The company is directed by Debra Iris Batton, who was appointed to this role in 1998. Performers have included Rowan Marchingo, Alexandra Harrison, Brendan Shelper, Gavin Robins, Bernadette Regan, Kirk Page and Ingrid Kleinig.

Legs on the Wall repertoire is listed under 'productions' on their website, which is available as a link at the top of this page.
