Raw Dance Company was established by Andrew Fee in 1998 as Raw Metal Dance, an all male Queensland company that blended traditional tap dancing with funk/grunge culture. In 2006 Raw Metal became Raw Dance Company, with Andrew Fee as creative director and Jess Chambers general manager. The company now lists females amongst its dancers. It has a history of performing in a variety of public spaces and entertainment venues and also offers an established education program with workshops, in-schools programs, and master classes in 'funk tap', hip-hop and break dance styles.
The company was established with the mission statement of 'achieving your goals through innovative design and hard work' and the company philosophy is one of 'integrity, intelligence, judgment, confidence, respect and leadership'. The company has performed in Hong Kong, New Zealand, Malaysia, Taiwan and New York, as well as touring Australia.
